Each Sable & Birch piece is handcrafted in Britain with an emphasis on honest materials, considered construction and lasting quality.

Where reclaimed timber is used, every board is carefully selected for its individual character. Natural grain, knots, tonal variation and subtle traces of the timber’s previous life are retained wherever possible rather than concealed.

Every piece is finished by hand, allowing the material itself to remain at the heart of the design.

Natural and reclaimed timber will never be completely uniform — and that is part of its beauty.

Colour, grain, knots, texture and markings will vary from piece to piece, meaning the furniture you receive will have its own individual character.

Small imperfections, previous fixing marks and signs of the timber’s history may be visible. These are not considered faults, but are part of the reclaimed nature of the material and what makes each piece unique.

To help preserve the finish, wipe the surface using a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaning products or abrasive materials.

Spills should be wiped away promptly, and we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to excessive moisture, direct heat or strong sunlight.

As timber is a natural material, slight movement may occur over time as it responds to changes in temperature and humidity.
